Learn more about the My School Year Homeschool Record Keeping release that occurred on June 24, 2021.
Search/Sort/Filter Settings Preservation
What is it? When you interact with Calendar, Homeroom, and Planbook, your search/filter/sort/student selections will persist when you come back to that page.
How it works. As you make selections, the system will store them and the next time you load the page, the pages will automatically default to your selections.
- The Planbook settings will reset each day to its standard default for search, sort and filter. Planbook is designed to keep you aware of your overall homeschool status.
- The Calendar will reset “today’s” date each day, but keep all other selections (e.g. View, Students, Types, Display, and Colors) the same since those selections are prominently displayed at the top of the page.
What is this for? While numerous scenarios exist for the need of this feature, the short answer is this: Reduce clicks to re-load the data you were viewing and therefore reduce time to track and record.
Time Spent Standardized
What is it? In a previous release, the “Time Spent” field in lesson plans were converted from “total minutes” to “hours” and “minutes”. Now, other sections were converted to use “hours” and “minutes” instead of “total minutes”. These sections are Create-A-Plan, Reading Logs, Lesson Plan Bulk Update, and Planbook.
How it works. Instead on entering total minutes, enter time in hours and minutes.
What is this for? To better assist members with data entry that matches (generally speaking) how people track and record time and to keep overall application consistent with data entry.
Foreign (non-USA) Address in Reports
What is it? The “Course Description” and “Instructional Hours” reports now display additional school address information to support foreign addresses.
How it works. These 2 reports now support international addressing based on use of address line 1, line 2, city, (empty state), and country.
What is this for? As My School Year expands its reach internationally, we needed to support homeschoolers through out the world. Report Cards and Transcripts were updated previously, and this update completes the enhancement across all reports that show addresses.
In every software system in the world, the need to make tweaks will always exist. Since some of you may have encountered these “un-documented features” (e.g. bugs), here is a list of items corrected.
- Homeroom now properly loads warning message if student is not enrolled in any terms.
