Student logins are part of our latest release.<\/p>\n<p>It is actually part of a master plan for student growth and responsibility, automation, and quick access to make\u00a0homeschool tracking faster and easier than ever before so read on to learn about the\u00a0latest updates. We will be posting a blog on how to achieve this goal\u00a0soon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Student Logins<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-924\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/StudentLogin.jpg\" alt=\"Student Login\" width=\"532\" height=\"149\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/StudentLogin.jpg 532w, https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/StudentLogin-300x84.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 532px) 100vw, 532px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0Every student can now have their own login to view and\/or manage their records. Go to <em><span style=\"color: #0096fc;\"><strong>My Homeschool &gt; Setup &gt; Students.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.<\/strong>\u00a0Each student can be granted access by creating a User Name &#8211; which can be their email address, but it is not required. The primary member then assigns permissions <strong><em>per student<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0to each of the record types (e.g., Lessons, Extra Curricular, Awards, etc.). The student is then able to login and access the records.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Options.<\/strong>\u00a0Lessons have the following settings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>None<\/strong> does NOT allow the student to see any\u00a0lesson information.\u00a0This is the default setting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>View Only<\/strong> gives the student the ability to &#8220;see&#8221; the lessons but cannot make any changes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Full Access<\/strong> allows the student to make any and all changes to the lesson, except add, re-order, and delete.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Complete Only<\/strong>\u00a0allows the student to only mark the lesson complete or incomplete,<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> <em>no grade entry<\/em>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finally,\u00a0when you give your student <strong>Full Access<\/strong> or <strong>Complete Only<\/strong> permissions, you can also receive an optional alert whenever the student updates\u00a0a lesson. These alerts appear in the Teacher&#8217;s Aid.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-923\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/StudentPermissionLessons.jpg\" alt=\"Lesson Permissions\" width=\"554\" height=\"155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/StudentPermissionLessons.jpg 554w, https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/StudentPermissionLessons-300x84.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 554px) 100vw, 554px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For all other student records (Extra Curricular, Standardized Tests, Attendance, Events, Awards, and Reading Log\/List), you can set permissions to\u00a0<strong>None<\/strong>, <strong>View Only<\/strong>, or\u00a0<strong>Full Access<\/strong>.\u00a0These settings work exactly\u00a0like the Lesson settings. However, <strong>Full Access<\/strong> on these records allow the student to add and delete the records.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-922\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/StudentPermissionRecords.jpg\" alt=\"All Permissions\" width=\"297\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/StudentPermissionRecords.jpg 297w, https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/StudentPermissionRecords-209x300.jpg 209w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>IMPORTANT NOTES<\/strong><\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When you allow a student to login, the default permission is &#8220;None&#8221;.
