The default setting is set to <strong>include<\/strong> overdue lessons. This field provides the ability to record this type of information across all lessons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Planbook: Notes<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0The Planbook &#8220;edit&#8221; mode now displays the associated lesson&#8217;s notes. Those notes can be updated and saved as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.\u00a0<\/strong>Clicking on the &#8220;edit&#8221; button in Planbook will display the lesson&#8217;s notes. You can review and update the note text by clicking the &#8220;save&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px;\">What is this for?<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u00a0Important lessons notes can now be captured in the Planbook in order to make updating and completing a lesson more efficient. You no longer have to drill into each lesson to update its notes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Lessons: Time Spent<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0The &#8220;Time Spent&#8221; field in Lesson Plan list view and Planbook now displays as hours and minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.<\/strong> You have the option to enter in lesson time as hours and minutes. You can still enter in 90 minutes and the system will do the appropriate calculations.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px;\">What is this for?<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u00a0To make data entry easier and faster for long running assignments, you no longer have to manually convert 1+ hour lessons into minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Lessons: New Grade Types<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0Two new Grade Types were added &#8220;Test-Quarterly&#8221; and &#8220;Quiz&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.<\/strong> Whenever you select a Grade Type for a lesson, you know have 2 more options to select.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px;\">What is this for?<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u00a0To help with grading breakdown and better match curriculum guides.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Grading Scales: 5.0 Grading Scale<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0A pair of &#8220;set&#8221; buttons will easily change the Grading Scale from 4.0 to 5.0.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.<\/strong> In\u00a0<em><strong>Setup &gt; Grading Scales<\/strong><\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>and <em><strong>Edit<\/strong><\/em><strong> Class <\/strong>views, you can click the appropriate button to automatically set the scales to either a 4.0 scale or 5.0 scale.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px;\">What is this for?<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u00a0These buttons allow you to easily toggle your entire grading system or individual classes to quickly convert from one grading scale to another.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1705\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1705\" style=\"width: 469px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1705\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/NewResetGradingScalesInSetup.jpg\" alt=\"Setup - Grading Scales\" width=\"469\" height=\"127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/NewResetGradingScalesInSetup.jpg 469w, https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/NewResetGradingScalesInSetup-300x81.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 469px) 100vw, 469px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1705\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Setup &#8211; Grading Scales<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1707\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1707\" style=\"width: 274px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1707\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/NewSetGradingScalesInClass.jpg\" alt=\"Class - Grading Scales\" width=\"274\" height=\"127\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1707\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Class &#8211; Grading Scales<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Term Stats: Terms and Create-A-Plan<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0Term Stats now display in the Term Setup and the first page of the Create-A-Plan wizard. It displays the count of available weeks and days of the weeks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.<\/strong> The Term Stat section will automatically calculate how many weeks and weekdays (Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, etc.) are in the term. The calculation counts between the Term Start and End Dates and then removes any un-selected school days (e.g. Saturday and Sunday) and removes any Scheduled Days Off. The default is to calculate the overall grade based on the average of the sub term grades; however, if you do not use sub terms, then either selection will use the overall term average. This new method is now the default because report card averages now appear more in line than previous default option.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"font-headlines\">System Adjustments<\/h2>\n<p>In every software system in the world, the need to make tweaks\u00a0will always exist. Since some of you may have encountered these \u201cun-documented features\u201d (e.g. bugs), here is a list of items corrected.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The &#8220;Bulk Update&#8221; tool correctly processes when &#8220;notes&#8221; are blank.<\/li>\n<li>The &#8220;Bulk Update&#8221; and &#8220;Bulk Delete&#8221; properly informs you when no lessons are selected to be changed.<\/li>\n<li>The &#8220;Bulk Update&#8221; and &#8220;Bulk Delete&#8221; fixes when lessons are toggled.
