Typically, sequence order and date order match.\u00a0 However, the sequence order and date order do not always coincide.\u00a0 Thus, this feature lets Lessons Plans be re-sorted so that they are re-sequenced into <em>DATE<\/em> order, and not the default <i>SEQUENCE\u00a0<\/i>order.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.\u00a0<\/strong>Two methods can be used to re-sequence by date.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Method 1<\/strong>: Lesson Plan Tools<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">We added a\u00a0<strong>Tools<\/strong> feature\/button on the Lesson Plan screen.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the Add\/Edit Lesson Plans on the Classes view<\/li>\n<li>Select the\u00a0<strong>Tools<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<li>Select the\u00a0<strong>Sort <\/strong>tool\u00a0option<\/li>\n<li>Select the\u00a0<strong>Sort By Date\u00a0<\/strong>button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1656\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1656\" style=\"width: 965px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1656\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/20180815-lesson-plans-tools-reorder.jpg\" alt=\"Lesson Plan Tools - Sort By Date\" width=\"965\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/20180815-lesson-plans-tools-reorder.jpg 965w, https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/20180815-lesson-plans-tools-reorder-300x87.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/20180815-lesson-plans-tools-reorder-768x224.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/20180815-lesson-plans-tools-reorder-600x175.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 965px) 100vw, 965px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1656\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lesson Plan Tools &#8211; Sort By Date<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Method 2<\/strong>: Reschedule Tool<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">A new option called <strong>Ordering<\/strong> is now available per class. Two options are available:\u00a0<strong>Sequence #<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Date<\/strong>.\u00a0By selecting Sequence #, lessons will be kept in the same sequence regardless of lesson date. By selecting Date, lessons will be re-sequenced in ascending date order.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1658\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1658\" style=\"width: 229px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/20180815-Reschedule-reorder.jpg\" alt=\"Reschedule Tools - Ordering\" width=\"229\" height=\"220\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1658\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Reschedule Tools &#8211; Ordering<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px;\">What is this for?<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u00a0Numerous reasons exist for a need to re-sort based on date and not sequence. Here are some examples:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Example 1: You manually rearranged the sequence of lessons and now need to reset the lessons back to date order.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Example 2: You manually created non-dated lessons and then applied a date at a later time. Those lessons may be out of &#8220;date order&#8221; with respect to other lessons. This feature will re-sequence those lessons back into the correct date order.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> This feature will re-sequence both COMPLETED and INCOMPLETE lessons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Reschedule Tool Update #2: Split Same-Date Lessons<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1660\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1660\" style=\"width: 189px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1660\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/20180815-Reschedule-split-same-date.jpg\" alt=\"Reschedule Tools - Split Same Day Lessons\" width=\"189\" height=\"175\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1660\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Reschedule Tools &#8211; Split Same Day Lessons<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0If lessons occur on the same date, this setting will split the lesson onto different days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works. <\/strong>When using the Reschedule Tool, set the\u00a0<strong>Split Same Day Lessons<\/strong> to be\u00a0<strong>YES.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is this for?<\/strong>\u00a0Due to re-arranging lessons (whether manual, rescheduling, creating new lessons, etc.), this option can ensure that only 1 lesson occur on a single school day. Please note that if the\u00a0<strong>Force End Date<\/strong> option is used, then lessons may still occur on the same day, however, lessons will be evenly distributed across the reschedule date range.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> In one sense, this option &#8220;resets&#8221; all the lesson dates as it will &#8220;ignore&#8221; the current date and assign a new one.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Report Card: Sub Term Override Grades<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1661\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1661\" style=\"width: 331px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1661\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/20180815-override-sub-term-grades.jpg\" alt=\"Class Details - Override Sub Term Grades\" width=\"331\" height=\"389\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/20180815-override-sub-term-grades.jpg 331w, https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/20180815-override-sub-term-grades-255x300.jpg 255w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 331px) 100vw, 331px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1661\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Class Details &#8211; Override Sub Term Grades<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0The Class now has override grade settings available for all sub-terms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works. <\/strong>Follow these steps in order to manually set\/override sub-term grades for a given class. Please note: this assumes your term is set to have sub-terms.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Edit Class Details<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Expand the\u00a0<strong>View Grading Settings<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select the appropriate\u00a0<strong>Override Grade<\/strong> for the appropriate sub-term.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Generate a Report Card, and those override grades now appear.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>What is this for?<\/strong>\u00a0A variety reasons exist for this feature. One such reason is taking an external course that provides sub-term grades. This feature now allows you to track those sub-term grades as they are provided. Another reason is to provide flexibility in grade management.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #353535; font-size: 2rem;\">System Adjustments<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In every software system in the world, the need to make tweaks\u00a0will always exist. Since some of you may have encountered these &#8220;un-documented features&#8221; (e.g. bugs), here is a list of items corrected.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Lessons Plan screen now displays a counter of how many lessons are displaying and the total number of lessons that exist.<\/li>\n<li>When generating lessons via the Create-A-Plan tool, the\u00a0<em>generate<\/em> button does not disable when first clicked, allowing users to accidentally create multiple copies of their lessons.
