{"id":1571,"date":"2017-09-06T14:49:21","date_gmt":"2017-09-06T14:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/?p=1571"},"modified":"2017-09-06T14:49:21","modified_gmt":"2017-09-06T14:49:21","slug":"reports-display-and-term-selection-updates-release-962017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myschoolyear.com\/blog\/reports-display-and-term-selection-updates-release-962017\/","title":{"rendered":"Reports, Display, and Term Selection Updates (Release 9\/6\/2017)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Learn more about the My School Year Homeschool Record Keeping release that occurred on September 6, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>View Lesson&#8217;s &#8220;Completed Date&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0Whenever you &#8220;edit&#8221; a completed lesson plan from the Lesson Plan screen, the Completed Date will display.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.<\/strong>\u00a0Regardless of the lesson plan date, the date that the lesson was marked &#8220;Completed&#8221; will be tracked and displayed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is this for?<\/strong>\u00a0It is easy to forget when items were marked for completion, especially if the lesson plan dates are not in-line with the student&#8217;s work.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Extra Curricular Report Custom Date Range<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0You can now select specific date ranges when generating an Extra Curricular report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.\u00a0<\/strong>In the &#8220;Activities&#8221; report input, select the &#8220;Custom Date Range&#8221; option. A start\/end date input display will appear. Enter in your dates.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is this for?<\/strong>\u00a0When generating a student&#8217;s previous year&#8217;s volunteer work or assembling college application information, it is imperative to only select activities that are part\u00a0of a particular date range.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Smarter Term Selection<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0In the\u00a0student&#8217;s Attendance, Awards, Events, and Reading Logs\/Lists sections, the selected term is based on &#8220;today&#8217;s&#8221; date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.\u00a0<\/strong>The system will review all your terms. If &#8220;today&#8221; falls within the start\/end date range of a given term, it will automatically select that one when the screen first loads.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is this for?<\/strong>\u00a0The system previously selected the latest term. This update makes daily and current reporting faster and more efficient since the member will most like being tracking &#8220;today&#8217;s&#8221; activities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Event Time Displayed on Report<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong>\u00a0You can now\u00a0have the option to display the Event Time on the Event Report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works.\u00a0<\/strong>In the &#8220;Display&#8221; options of the Event Report, select &#8220;Event Time&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is this for?<\/strong>\u00a0Since Events can track Event Time, the report now also displays it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #353535; font-size: 2rem;\">System Adjustments<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In every software system in the world, the need to make tweaks\u00a0will always exist. Since some of you may have encountered these &#8220;un-documented features&#8221; (e.g. bugs), here is a list of items corrected.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Instructional Hours report now correctly filters and displays the &#8220;Core&#8221;, &#8220;Elective&#8221; and &#8220;All&#8221; setting.<\/li>\n<li>Unused materials from deleted lessons can now be removed from the system.<\/li>\n<li>The system blocks the user from deleting the last student.
